Select your modem from the list of modem drivers. If their exact modem model is not listed, try the closest modem from their manufacturer. If there are no drivers listed for their manufacturer, try selecting a Hayes driver, as they work well with many modems. If the selected driver does not work, they can change it in the Modem Control Panel.

Also select where your modem is plugged in. Like PCs, Macintosh computers usually have 2 serial ports. Rather than being numbered, Macintosh serial ports are named the Printer port and the Modem port. Each port is identified on the back of the computer. Select the port that your modem is plugged into. In rare cases a user will have an internal modem, if installed correctly, it should be listed as one of the choices.
